We all know cell phones can be problematic at times, so if you find yourself having any issues with your MyRepChat app on your mobile phone, here are some troubleshooting tips to resolve the most common problems.
- Update your operating system. If the app freezes or certain features stop working, check that your phone's OS is up to date and install any available updates.
- Use the latest version of the app. We release updates regularly to improve performance and fix issues. If you're experiencing problems, try deleting the app and reinstalling the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. Your MyRepChat account information will not be lost when you do this.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app. If you experience issues logging into the app, SSO, or MFA not loading, try uninstalling the app from your phone and reinstalling it.
- Restart your phone. Turn your phone completely off, wait about 10 seconds, and turn it back on. This simple step resolves a surprising number of app issues.
- Check your phone's age. Older smartphones may not support the latest app or OS updates. If you're also noticing other apps crashing or behaving unexpectedly, or you're unable to install recent updates, it may be time to upgrade your device.
- Refresh the app. Close the app completely and reopen it, or log out and log back in. This is a quick fix that resolves many usability issues.
- Test the app using your own number. You can message yourself within MyRepChat to verify that features are working as expected. Try sending yourself a message, scheduling a message to your number, or sending your vCard or media. This lets you see exactly what your clients see, including send/receive stages and timing.
- Phone type. Some foldable phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, might not offer an optimal experience with the mobile app. We advise keeping these phones folded (not unfolded for the larger screen) to ensure the best performance with MyRepChat.
Not receiving notifications?
If you're not getting notifications for new messages or calls, try the following steps:
- Make sure notifications are enabled for MyRepChat in your phone's settings.
- Check that your phone's OS is up to date and install any available updates.
- Restart your phone: turn it off for a few minutes, then turn it back on.
- Delete the app and reinstall the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Refresh the app by closing it completely and reopening it, or log out and log back in.
| Note: the notification number count may not update when messages or calls are accessed from a different account, and it may not update if a message is moved from read back to unread. |
