Follow these steps to enable Banner Notifications, App Icon badges, and sounds on an Android device. Keep in mind that most Android phones won't allow you to change notification settings until you receive an incoming message. If you haven't received a message on your MyRepChat number after installation, send a message to your MyRepChat number to enable notification setting changes on your Android device.
When you log in to the MyRepChat Mobile App for the first time, or after being logged out, you will be prompted to enable notifications if you have not already done so. If you want to enable notifications without waiting for this prompt, you can turn them on from your Android settings.
Enable notifications for MyRepChat
- On your Android device, locate and open the Settings app.
- Go to the Apps (or Apps & notifications) section.
- Search for and select MyRepChat.
- Tap Notifications (this may appear under a Privacy or similar section, depending on your device).
- Toggle on Allow notifications.
Customize notification preferences
Once notifications are enabled, you can further customize how MyRepChat alerts you:
- Choose whether notifications appear on the lock screen.
- Turn app icon badges on or off.
- Decide if you want notification pop-ups or banners.
- Toggle sound and vibration on or off as you prefer.
| Please note that notification settings differ across Android devices, so these instructions might not apply to all. If they don't work for you, please check your device's notification settings. |
